Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Hey friends. I didn’t post a movie review today because I wanted to do something special for the holiday. Well, that didn’t happen either. Why? Here is what is going on.

As some of you may know, I have been dealing with extreme ankle/foot pain for almost two years now. It happened right after I started back to work after losing my comfy desk job. I don’t know who or how many people were around for that.

Anyways, I have gone to one doctor twice and they have told me it was tendinitis. So I went to Physical Therapy for about 6 months with no improvement. I didn’t go back to the doctor until just this year because the pain is just getting to be too much and interfering with my job. They, for the second time, said it was tendinitis and wanted me to go back to Physical Therapy.

Instead I went to an Orthopedic doctor to get a second opinion. I had MRI’s done with my family doctor who said I had a torn ligament. Today I went to the Orthopedic doctor who tells me that I don’t have a torn ligament but bone liquid floating around. What is bone liquid??

This doctor suggest giving me a shot of steroids INTO MY ANKLE! Which I went ahead and done. I am so ready for the pain to be over I will try just about anything. He also sent me to get a custom brace that I won’t get for 3 to 6 weeks.

My family doctor knows what this orthopedic doctor has said and thinks that it’s BS. I kind of agree…they don’t seem to be listening to the pain I am in. How can liquid cause this much pain? Tendinitis is supposed to heal up in a year at the most.

So now, I am doing with this orthopedic doctor has told me to do as well as a few things on my own. My mom thinks that if I lose some weight it could help. I’m willing to try anything, like I said before. This pain is not fun. After a long day at work I come home almost in tears because of the pain.

I wanted to start running again, to finally build myself up to being one of those people that find peace in the run. I want to go to the gym and do what ever without having so much pain that it just isn’t worth it. I want to be able to come home from work and take my dog for a walk or play with her outside, instead of crashing on the couch because of the pain. I just want to be a normal person again, but I am being sent around the ringer while these doctors pretend to care.

Anyways, I know my blog has taken a turn and is now more about reading, writing, and all things story, but for the few of you who already knew, I wanted to give you a little update on what I am dealing with.

Continue on with the regularly scheduled program.
