Would You Rather: Book Nerd Style

Okay, this is evidently going around the blogging world for all of us book nerds and I wanted to jump in on the fun…so thank you Galit for sharing it! Obviously it’s one of those tag post, but no one ever tags me in anything, so I am tagging myself and…well if you want to do it, tag yourself too. We can’t wait around for people to do things for us. We have to take what we want. And that is my life lesson for the day. lol

Moving on.

Would you rather

Read only trilogies or stand alones?
Trilogies. I already do this for the most part. I can’t remember the last time I read a standalone novel. There isn’t many of them anymore because everyone wants to keep the story alive.

Read only female or male authors?
This is a hard one! I have read a great many books by wonderful male authors, but it seems the ones that I love the most are by female authors. And as most you of you know, my all time favorite author is Stephen King….Do I have to pick!? Okay, okay, if I have to pick I would go with male authors. I mean…Stephen King. Not to mention Jim Butcher, Rick Yancey, Jonathan Maberry, and Dean Koontz. FavoriteAuthors

Shop at bookshops or online?
Bookshops all the way! I love going into a book store and browsing. It always feels me with such joy. Also, when you find a book you want to read you can take it home that day and don’t have to wait for it to ship to your house. There is also a bond you have with others in the book store with you. You are all lovers of reading. And I secretly dream of meeting my soul mate in a bookstore one day and bonding over a favorite book. lol

All books become movies or T.V. shows?
T.V. shows! Movies are great, but T.V. shows could really dig into the details of the book and nothing would have to be left out. Also, if it’s a trilogy or series of novels, there is so much to work with for a T.V. Show. Look at Vampire Diaries and True Blood. Both of them deterred away from original story, which is when the shows went down hill, but the first few seasons were fantastic.
TVShowsBookAdaptation**Side note: I hate Nina Dobrev for leaving The Vampire Diaries. UGH!!! Elena and Damon were supposed to be together forever!

Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?
5 books a week, no questions. If I could read that many books a week now, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Be a professional reviewer or author?
At this moment…reviewer. I am having some major doubts about my own writing, but I am sure in a week or two I would pick author. I just need to get back to writing.

Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven’t read before?
New ones. This is basically how I read now. I hardly ever re-read a book. I just can’t get excited about them when I know what happens already. That being said, there are some books that I forgot details and will re-read. Like Cinder and The 5th Wave. One I have already re-read and the other is on my TBR pile.

Be a librarian or bookseller?
Bookseller! I would love to have my own book store and book authors to come do signings. I have actually dreamed of my own bookstore for years.

Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?
Favorite Genre. I tend to get bored with other genres. Though…I do like a few other genres. As long as there is some kind of fantasy aspect of it, I’m in.

Only read physical books or eBooks?
Physical books. I love holding a real book in my hand. I am not against eBooks and I have read several of them and have more waiting to be read. An eReader is great for so many things, but given the choice I would take a physical book.

There you go. My Would You Rather: Book Nerd Style. So…what are you waiting for? It’s your turn!

TV Addiction

First I would like to congratulate myself for posting everyday this week! I won’t be posting this weekend though, that is my planning time…which I haven’t been doing, but I will now…hopefully.

On to the show!

Last night was the best night of TV since last fall!  I seriously love fall.  Everything about it is fantastic.  The smells, the colors, the TV!

Last night one of my favorite shows started back…can you guess what it was?  The Vampire Diaries! To make things better, it was the premier of The Originals.  Of course, Glee was on too.

I know that people are going to eventually start complaining because of the two vampire shows back to back.  I always hear people say how tired they are of vampires.  Where does this come from?  I am completely obsessed with vampires, and I promise you I will watch every vampire show on TV…at least once anyways.

Actually, anything to do with supernatural beings, I will be all for it.  I can’t explain my draw to it, I just love anything not of this world.

So my thoughts on last nights shows?  I will go into more detail later, I don’t want to give away any spoilers.  So here is a quick…”What I think” for you.

The Vampire Diaries-  Ian Somerhalder…how did I survive without seeing his gorgeous face on the television? I will not lie, I am in love with this guy.  I follow him on twitter and he is always so nice! And he makes a fantastic vampire.  Other than that, the episode last night was really good.  It had me on the edge of my seat at the end, and I almost yelled at my TV when the hour was up…I have a love/hate relationship with cliff hangers.

The Originals- Awesome! I can not wait to see how the story progresses.  I really want Klaus to find some kind of happiness here.  He may be a bad guy…but is he really??

Glee- I realize it’s so far from the other two.  There is nothing supernatural about it, and a lot of people hate it.  Me…I love Glee!  I love the emotional roller-coaster it puts me on. I love the singing and dancing, and how cute are the gay couples?! This weeks episode though, I felt was lacking something.  I am sure they will make up for it next week when they finally address the death of Finn (Corey Monteith).  I have already warned everyone that next Thursday, I will watch Glee alone and I will go straight to bed after, just so no one sees me crying or traces of my puffy red eyes.

Parenthood- Yep, I watched it too.  This show is all over the place! It has always been that way though, so I wasn’t expecting anything less.  I feel like this season has so much more drama than the past.  It actually makes my head hurt, but I love it.  I don’t like drama in my real life, so I eat it up when it’s on television.

So, what did you watch last night?  Did you watch any of these shows?  If so, what did you think of them?

I can’t wait for next week.  So many more new shows, including American Horror Story! Have you seen the snippets and previews for it? OMG! It’s going to be amazeballs!

Have a fantastic weekend my friends!
