March Wrap Up/Book Haul

Monthly Wrap up and Haul Image

Hello friends! So…this month has been a little crazy. Did you realize that we had two holidays this month? St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. Let me tell you, working in retail, one holiday in a month is enough to drive someone mad, but when you have two in a month it’s like the gates of holiday hell have opened up just for you. Retail kind of sucks. I might get out of it one day.

Let’s get this wrap up going!

Books Read

The 6th Horseman by Anderson Atlas: 4/5 stars

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard: 5/5 stars

Firstlife by Gena Showalter: 5/5 Stars

Trinkets, Treasures, and other Bloody Magic by Meghan Ciana Doidge: 5/5 stars

Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic by Meghan Ciana Doidge: 5/5 Stars

Yes, I am sort of obsessed with Meghan Ciana Doidge’s Dowser series. and I don’t plan on stopping.

Audio BookThe Game of Lives by James Dashner

The Game of Lives by James Dashner: 3/5 stars. I finished this book and feel like something was missing with the ending. I just wasn’t happy with it.

Book Haul

Now, I would like to add a little disclaimer. My book haul is not to brag about what I have had the money to buy this month. It is not to brag at all, but to share with people what books I have added to my TBR or even to my collection of books. Books are my hobby…one of the many…I just like to share with people what books I am interested in. Also, half the time I can’t actually afford all these books, which means I am sacrificing something to feed my addiction.

Yes, addiction. Buying books has become an addiction that I seriously need to fix!

But moving on!

Book Pile

Ze pile o’ books! I actually bought 15 books this month but two are still on their way…so I will add those into April’s book haul. I told you I had a problem. Good news is most of them were ordered from BookOutlet…because I love BookOutlet! So…let’s just cover these books real fast.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: Obviously I had to get this one. Though, I haven’t started reading it yet. Paid way too much for it at Target.

The Winners Curse and The Winners Crime by Marie Rutkoski: I have heard a lot about this series and BookOutlet had the first two so I went a head and got them.

Plus One by Elizabeth Fama: The blurb of this one just sounds so interesting. Also bought from BookOutlet

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo: This is the second book in the Grisha series. I have the first one and haven’t read it…but when you can get the second for less than 5 bucks you go for it.

Redeemed by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast: I have been meaning to get this book. I think it is the last in the series…though I could be wrong. From BookOutlet

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: This author has been talked about so much. I don’t usually like contemporary…but I liked the title so I thought I would try and read it. Also from BookOutlet.

A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Shwab: Again, I have heard a lot about this series and I have been dying to read it. I got these from Barnes & Noble and one of them came damaged! I was so made

The Good Inn and Hunting Season I don’t know anything about really. I bought both of them at Dollar Tree. The Good Inn is supposedly something about the first porn movie. I just thought it had a pretty cover.

The adult coloring book my mom actually bought for me and I so very much love steam punk!

I am not doing a TBR for this month because I didn’t get all of them on my TBR last month. So I am going to just continue on with that list and hope that I can move past those books.

Over all, this was a good month for reading and an even better month for buying books. I bought to many and I really need to slow down. I also need to buy a few books that are not YA or I am going to get burnt out on the YA genre. I need some good Urban Fantasy novels so if you know of any let me know!

What did you read the month of March? Do you have a TBR for April? Did you buy any good books in March?

I’ve been reading the Divergent series in March. Just started the third book. I like the story but really find the writing/voice irritating. There’s so much telling and no room for the reader to work things out for themselves. It’s sort of exhausting reading every detail of body language and the thoughts going through their mind. Anyway, I bought Packing Light by Allison Vesterfelt, a book I’ve really wanted to read and it arrived yesterday so I’m reading that for a bit of a break. Loving it!

I actually bought the first book of the Divergent series and never read it. I ended up trading it in to a second hand bookstore. I heard about the ending and kind of don’t want to read it now. lol
