April Showers Bring May Books

I usually do Pin-It Saturdays, but it’s the beginning of the month and I need to set some goals for this month, so I will skip Pin-It Saturday this week. I have decided that I wanted to read a few more books this month than I have the past few months. I am consistantly staying at least 2 books behind my reading goal for 2015 and I want to rectify that.

First of all, how do you like the new look? I decided that what I was trying to do was making the blog look crowded and too busy. So I simplified it. It will probably stay like this for the remainder of the year at least. Unless I decide to buy a domain and get into more personalized customization. But the busy life that I lead, I may not have the time for all that.

So, what are my goals for this month? Let me tell you, I have a few books sitting on my bed right now that I want to get through this month. Though, I have a ton of books, so some of these may be pushed to next months list.

Now here is a list and a little closer look at the books I have here.

1. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. I just re-read Cinder so that I could jump into this book. And there is a possibility that once I finish Scarlet I will go right into the next book Cress, just because I am in love with this series. The first time I read Cinder I almost squealed with excitement when I finished. I can’t believe I waited so long to read the next.

2 & 3 The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I have read this already, but the book next to it The Infinite Sea, is the second in this series and it has been a while since I have read the first. I do remember it was a fantastic book though!

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass. I have been in love with this cover for a while. Not only that, I have heard many good things about the book. I am curious. It’s not like I am reading enough series already anyways…

5.Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I have looked at this book every time I have gone into any book store. I contemplate over it and always put it back down for another book. Then I found out that they are making a movie based on this book and Tim Burton is involved. Of course I had to read it then!

5. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. My brother read this book and actually finished it. That is saying a lot because my brother does not read a lot of books. They really have to get his attention for him to finish them. So I have high hopes that this is going to be a good book. Also, I love a good book about gaming…even though I am not a gaming nerd…though I would be if provided time to do so.

Now, let’s talk about the two Kindles in this stack. One belongs to my mom who has let me borrow her Kindle to read Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. My goal is to finish the book I am in the middle of reading now. I am on book 10 and there are 15 books in the series, soon to be 16. I am reading them about one book a month because of all the other books I am reading. I really need to get a handle on these things.

The other Kindle is my own. I have so many books on there that I want to read, but the ones that I will be focusing on are the ones for The Reading Bud. I just got the list of books yesterday and picked out the ones I wanted to read. There are three, plus an extra that is a middle grade book.

Two-Faced by Nia Davenport. OMG! That cover is gorgeous! I do hope the story holds up to the cover.

Eliza Bluebell by A.J. York. Again…the cover got my attention. Also, the blurb sounded really good too.

Shackleton’s Folly by Todd Yunker. I am reading a book right now similar to the story in this one. It also sounds a little post-apocalyptic and I love post-apocalyptic stories!

Delilah Dusticle by A.J. York. This is the middle-grade book and I was super intrigued by the blurb. So…yeah, I want to read it. Also, I haven’t read a middle-grade book since I was in elementary school. Also, just noticed that A.J. York wrote two of the books I am reading this month. Ooo! I hope I like them so I can hit up the author for an interview!

So what do you plan on reading this month? I know I have a long list and I do hope very much to get through most of them. I know that I will at least make it through the 4 for The Reading Bud, just because I consider that a job.

I do have a few more goals for this month, but I will save that for another post. I did’t realize how long this one was going to be!

There is never enough time to read all the books. Aside from the Kindle books, I have all the other books on my TBR list, too. Good luck chipping away at it!
