Where Dragons Fly and Fairies Dream

Blog Title

This post was inspired by the wonderful Galit at Coffee n’ Notes. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you probably should…like now. It was her post about her new desk that made me clean my own desk so I could share it with the world. It’s like looking at room tours on YouTube, everyone likes to be a little nosy!

On to the show and tell!

I actually have two desk that I work from. As some of you may know, I do dabble in arts and crafts and DIY. It’s what my upcoming business is all about. So, of course I have a craft desk!

Craft Desk

It looks like a mess, I know, but I just cleaned it up! I just don’t know where to put everything else. I’m currently working on some sparkly red shoes…if you couldn’t tell. I have an obsession with the Wizard of Oz. I can’t help that I love the red slippers…even knowing that the original shoes were actually silver.

I haven’t spent as much time at this desk lately. I spent a ton of time at it in December, making Christmas gifts. I will be getting back to my crafts this month though, so I needed to get it cleaned up and organized.

Moving on to what you are really here for. The desk where I write!

Desk 2 Desk 1

As you can see, I have several things on the wall. My Doctor Who calendar that I got for 3 bucks! I was so excited for that and David Tennant is the model for August, my birthday month! Edward Scissor hands..because he is one of my favorite characters and I haven’t found a Jarreth the Goblin King figure yet. And a license plate with my name on it.

What you can’t see above all the stuff is a cloth picture with the Serenity prayer on it. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” It’s a good daily reminder.

The little white stick man you see over to the right is my usb hub. My computer has two usb ports on the front, but it isn’t exactly easy to get to.

You can kind of see my laptop in front of the screen on the left. Also to the left is my water bottle…I always have water with me, and a note pad for scratching down quick notes. I love my desk when it’s actually clean. It takes a lot to keep it that way. For some reason things just pile up on my desk.

And in case you were wondering about the background picture on my computer, its from an anime that I absoluetly love called Sword Art Online. The picture is of the two main characters and the art is done by this amazing person on Deviant Art, Sakimichan. The art work this person does is so amazing!

Anyone watch Sword Art Online??

There is one more place that I do a lot of writing. It’s probably the most comfortable place aside from my desk, because my desk chair is actually pretty comfy.

Desk 3 bed

My bed! I have a wooden panel that came off and old entertainment center that I tore apart. It’s the perfect size to keep my laptop on and a notebook, with my pouch of pens. I like to make colorful notes, so I always have more than one pen. It’s also where I sit down to organize my agenda, and that calls for more than one color as well. I have spent hours in my bed writing away. Some days I don’t even make it out of bed. I just want to stay comfy and write. Or read, which I do a lot of in bed as well.

So there you go. My work areas. You would think with all the space that I have to work I wouldn’t be complaining about not writing. I’m such a slacker!!

Let’s start a trend of showing off our work areas!
