Catching Up

I haven’t been very present this week.  I have been lazy and unproductive.  But that changes today! First, this post.  I wanted to give you a bit of an update on what is going on with me.

Work has been so much fun. I love being around the public again and a few of the people I work with are pretty awesome.  There are also a few people I work with that I don’t much enjoy, but isn’t that normal for anywhere you work?  They are talking about getting me into the bakery after the 4th of July.  I can’t wait!

It’s a lot of work.  Last weekend I worked two 7 hour shifts back to back.  After my feet and ankles were killing me.  I guess that is what I get for sitting on my butt at a computer for 3 years.  The top of my right foot hurts, like someone dropped a brick on it.

Last night I worked another 7 hour shift and my ankles are trying to recover.  I guess I just need to find a way to strengthen my ankles, or lose weight.  I have a bad feeling that it’s my weight causing the problem.  Which brings me to my next point.

I have lost 4 pounds somewhere between last week and this week.  I am trying to figure out how.  At night I eat everything in site…well some nights I do.  The past two nights I have eaten a late dinner so I didn’t want anything after.  I also don’t eat a lot through the day, especially if I am working that day.  Wednesday I had a sandwich before work around 11, went to work for four hours, got off just in time to change and get to church, and then I got home around 9pm.  I was starving by time I got home.  I ate dinner and I was good for the rest of the night.  Not the best way to lose weight, but when you don’t have time…

I have also been drinking 3 liters of water a day.  Of course, this could be the secret behind my weight loss.  It could have all been water weight that I am now losing because my body is getting the water it needs and not trying to save what little I was putting in it.

Sadly I have not been to the gym in the past two weeks.  With my schedule and my feet acting up, I just haven’t made it there.  Of course, that is just my excuse.  I read something yesterday where this chick said that instead of making excuses just own up to the fact that you didn’t make that one thing a priority.  Which is true.  So, I am making it a priority to get to the gym three times next week.

I haven’t been writing much, just my short story “Soul Collectors.”  It has come to an end and I am thinking about continuing the story.  I want to thank all my readers for taking the time to read my short stories.  I plan on doing a lot more writing in the upcoming weeks.  I really need to get back into a routine.

Here is what I am thinking for a routine.  Monday thru Friday I will write at 500-1000 words a day.  Saturday and Sunday I usually work a lot, but I have plenty of time to edit and rewrite.  I have two books that I need to rewrite to get them ready to start sending out queries.  Both books are over  70,000 words.  So on the weekends I will prepare and plan on how to tackle those through the week.

I bet you are dying to hear about how my puppy is doing.

Pixel Bed timePixel is still doing great.  She pouts when I am at work.  She doesn’t like me being gone all day.  Then when I do get home she attacks me with kisses.  It’s kind of a nice way to come home.  She is just always so excited to see me when I get home from where ever I have gone.  I love this puppy so much!

Coming up…

I have a few things coming up in the next week.  I will not leave you hanging another day like I have this week.  I need to prepare better so I don’t have gaps in my weeks.  This coming week I have at least one book review, a cupcake post, and a new short story.  I haven’t decided on what the short story will be.  It could be a continuation of “Soul Collectors” or a new one all together.  I have very much enjoyed the short stories.

So, stick with me while I figure out this whole juggling act of working, having fun, and keeping my blog going.
