As promised, I tried a new recipe. It’s a really, really easy peach cobbler. I like easy recipes because I don’t have to stand in the kitchen too long. I do enough work in the kitchen while I am making cake pops! So get ready! Here we go.
I found this recipe on facebook, so I am not really sure the original source.
Here is what you need
- A cup of sugar
- 3/4 cups of self-rising flour
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 1 Stick of butter (or a cup)
- 2 cans of peaches in heavy syrup
I used a 13×9 glass pan.
Step 1: Pre heat the oven to 350 and melt the butter in the oven in the pan.
Step 2: Mix together the milk, flour, and sugar
Step 3: Pour the mixture into the pan with the melted butter
Step 4: Gently put the peaches on top of the batter, and pour the juice/syrup from the can on top of the fruit. The directions I had said to make sure the fruit didn’t mix with the batter…but that was simply impossible!
At this point I put it into the oven….then quickly took it back out. I forgot to put the cinnamon on top!!
Step 5: Cook for 45 minutes. This was tricky! I waited for the top to start getting brown. It has to still be runny for it to be peach cobbler, so you can’t wait until all the liquid is gone. Obviously I am new to all this because…I actually had to discuss this in my head! lol
Step 6: Take it out of the oven and inhale the deliciousness! And I mean…just smell it. It should cool for a little bit before you serve it.
It turned out so good! I am in love with this recipe. It’s just so quick and easy. I am sure it would have been amazing with vanilla ice cream, but I forgot to get some at the grocery store. So I had to just eat the peach cobbler. My mom loved it, but no one else in the house tried it. Next time I will make enough to take to the guys at work, they would have loved it!
For my first cobbler, I think it turned out super awesome. I can’t wait to try more! Next week I think I am going to try home made cookies!
